Future of jazzy house by Tortured Soul (NYC) at Conference

The famous DJ Gilles Peterson said about this band: “I hear the future of jazz house music.” Come to the Conference on 8th of April to the LMB and see for yourself! The band Tortured Soul from New York are currently playing so many concerts, that they nearly don’t have time to record a new album. Their concerts, where they play house music live, is full of energy and a great experience! “We are missing in electro-house the emotion of the soul, so we decided to play everything live”, says the singer and keyboardist Ethan White, student of the jazz pianist Don Friedman. This formation is recommended by Carl Cox and Stevie Wonder. Tortured Soul was found in 2002 in New York with the conviction, that it is possible to play jazz-house live and to give it the spirit of the 60s. Over the years, they become not only favorite guests in jazz clubs, but also at big festivals around the world.

They played at the Montreal Jazz Festival for more then 15.000 people! In Czech Republic they played at Colours of Ostrava, where the people, which didn’t fit into the tent, were dancing outside. Last year they rocked the LMB, so we are happy to have them back on our stage. A big role in the success is playing singer and drummer of the band, J.CH.Urich, who had already an engagement at the Metropolitan Opera. Torture Soul has two albums, Introducing (2005) and Did You Miss Me (2009). They are working on their third album, so they promised to bring few new songs to Prague, e.g. their new single Dirty. Tickets are available at this page or at the cash desk of the LMB, or at Ticketpro, Eventim and Ticketportal.
