After a long time is the Dutch saxophonist Candy Dulfer returning back to Prague! On the 18th of November is this great artist coming with her band to the LMB, organized by AghaRTA Prague Jazz Festival. Her first performance in the Czech Republic is nearly twenty years ago, now she is inspiring her audience around the world with sold out concerts.
After the season last year was very successful, playing at many great festivals in Europe and Japan, Candy Dulfer is also this year going on tour – planed is Europe, USA, Japan and Russia. The queen of saxophone, as she is calling herself, will be accompanied by a great new band, where the best artists of the Netherlands are part of.
Candy Dulfer her roots in Jazz, but she is not afraid to mix it up with the newest music trends. An example is the beatboxer Andy Ninvalle and talented singer Phatt, which will be part of the concert.
You can look forward to a great mix of funk, soul and dance music, which will pull you to the dance floor. You will not only hear her greatest hits from her records like Lily Was Here, Pick Up The Pieces and Saxuality, but also great surprises.
Candy is performing since age seven, bandleader of Funky Stuff since age fourteen, international recording artist since age nineteen, touring the world since age twenty. She has recorded and / or performed with artists like Prince, Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), Van Morrison, Maceo Parker, Sheila E., Mavis Staples, Lionel Richie, Beyoncé, Pink Floyd, Chaka Khan, David Sanborn, Larry Graham, Marcus Miller, Aretha Franklin, Jimmy Cliff, George Duke, Blondie, Jools Holland, Jamie Cullum, Angie Stone, Tower of Power, The Time, Alan Parsons, Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis, Joey DiFrancesco, Jonathan Butler, and many others. Her debut album Saxuality from 1990 was nominated for a Grammy. She recorded 9 studio albums, 2 live albums and one compilation album.
