American rockers Helmet will come with new album in January

It is incredibly exciting to announce that the American rock band Helmet is releasing a new album Dead To The World — the first new Helmet album in six years! On the 21st of January you can hear the hard riffs and the typical voice of front man Page Hamilton live in the Lucerna Music Bar.

Tickets are available from 7th of October for 440 CZK (+fee) at musicbar.cz, GoOut.cz, Ticketpro and Ticketportal. At the cash desk of the LMB without fee, at the door 550 CZK.

Every song on this new album Death To The World is a combination of different hard styles – hard rock, metal and punk. The album was produced by Page Hamilton, mixed by Jay Baumgardner, and recorded by Toshi Kasai.

The winner of the golden record and Grammy nominated Helmet released since 1989 eight successful albums. Helmet, fusing Zeppelinesque riffing with a vehement post-hardcore precision, augmented by dense chords and offbeat time signatures based in Hamilton’s formal jazz training. The combination was that rarest of visionary creations–it was successful in its own time. Bands such as the Deftones, Rise Against, Pantera and Tool have all cited Helmet as an influence, and not just for Helmet’s blistering, aggro approach but for the band’s sheer musicality and brains. Helmet, among other things, is a work of art.

This will also show the newest album Dead To The World, which will be released 28th of October on earMusic as CD digipack and vinyl. And of course, Helmet will be headed out on a coast-to-coast headline tour in support of the new album, Dead to the World, with special guests (and friends) Local H opening each and every show.

Local H from Illinois were one of the first bands, who performed in pairs – front man Scott Lucas playes guitar and drummer Ryan Harding takes care of all the other sound.
