Australian The Cat Empire for the 2nd time in the Czech Republic

The band The Cat Empire from Melbourne is coming for the second time to Prague. The first time was during the New Wave Prague project and was a big surprise. Who didn’t have a chance to see this amazing fusion of ska, reggae, rock and jazz live, has a second chance on the 25th of October in the Lucerna Music Bar. The Cat Empire will bring their new album Rising With The Sun. This concert will be one of the first of the European tour.

The band was formed in 1999 as a jazz band The Jazz Cat. Their debut album “The Cat Empire” was released in 2002 at Virgin records. Their colourful, genre-bending music, shipped across the world in traveler’s backpacks seems at home almost anywhere, and yet the band has always been a kind of illusive stranger.

After seven studio albums, thousands of played concerts and working together already for 17 years, they are now coming to Prague on the 25th of October. The new album Rising With The Sun was in the Top 10 in the iTunes Music Charts in seven different countries. In Australia was the album for 21 weeks in the Top 20. Their concerts are full of energy and their performances are always a very unique experience.
On stage are: Trumpet – vocals (Harry James Angus), percussion – vocals (Felix Riebl), drums (Will Hull-Brown), bas (Ryan Monro), gramophone (DJ Jumps) a keyboard (Ollie McGill) and the very special wind section “The Empire Horns”.

Tickets are available for 790 CZK at GoOut.cz, Ticketpro, NoLimits.cz and musicbar.cz.
