Main star at this years Bluefest will be Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials. The 71 years old Ed Williams is since the 70s one of the most important musicians in the Chicago blues scene.  Born in Chicago in 1955, he received lessons and support from his famous uncle, blues guitarist J.B. Hutto. “J.B. taught me everything I know,” says Ed. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.”
Since 1986 they are releasing their album on the famous label Alligator. With The Big Sound Of Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials, the band continues to bring their blistering Chicago blues to “Ed Heads” new and old. Their infectious energy, joyful showmanship and masterful playing have been honed to a razor’s edge by their many years together. Lil’ Ed, Pookie, Mike and Kelly have seen sports stars and presidents, musical fads and fashion trends come and go. Meanwhile, their fiery music has more than stood the test of time.

The second great artist at the Bluefest will be the musician Mr. Sipp. 40 years old Castro Coleman a-k-a Mr. Sipp “The Mississippi Blues Child” is an awesome vocalist, songwriter, musician, composer, producer and entertainer. Castro has over 130 credits and has played on over 50 national recordings. He has travelled extensively with his “Knock A Hole In It Tour” to several countries such as Brazil, Hong Kong, Russia, Germany, Scotland and other countries spreading his gift of music. Castro is a Malaco recording artist. He is the 2016 Best New Artist Album Blues Music Award winner. In 2015 he won the JMA Male Artist of the year, National Artist of the year, Blues Artist of the year. He is also the 2014 International Blues Challenge and Gibson Best Guitarist. He was cast in the James Brown movie, “Get On Up” Mr. Sipp is loving to live the life he loves which is music.

European scene at the Bluefest will be presented by the Austrian Ripoff Raskolnikov – guitarist and blues songwriter. He released already 4 albums, one with the great harmonica player Pribojszkim.
