In October, the cult Mighty Diamonds will come to Prague for the first time! The Jamaican vocal trio came about in 1969 and went straight up into immortal classics with their first 1976 album Right Time that was released in Jamaica and also the UK with great success.
Mighty Diamonds worked with many key Jamaican producers of the time – Lee Perry, Bunny Lee, Stranger Cole, Pat Francis and Derrick Harriott. The trio’s (Donald “Tabby” Shaw, Fitzroy “Bunny” Simpson and Lloyd “Judge”) first hit called Shame and Pride was produced by Francis. Also singles Country Living and Hey Girl helped them a lot and we mustn’t forget about the megahit Pass The Kutchie from 1982 that was famously covered by the British band Musical Youth. Mighty Diamonds have released 35 albums including an acoustic delicacy for Inna De Yard.
Tickets for sale from 29th June 10am.
