The authors of the immortal hit Young Folks are coming to Prague in October for the first time. Peter Bjorn and John decided to disappear for a while, to build a studio, put together a record company INGRID and mainly to work on a new album. Meanwhile their Swedish colleagues have been conquering the world – Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, Lykke Li or Robyn. But the world has been missing three names – Peter Moren, Bjorn Yttling and John Eriksson. After the album Breakin’ Point they went back on stage and on 19th October they will play on our round stage.
The three childhood friends are connected by love for baroque pop of the 60’s and Stone Roses. More than ten years ago they broke through with a great catchy song with whistling in it – Young Folks. But the bass player Bjorn says: “Young Folks wasn’t our musical curse. We are a band that came to our seventh phase with our seventh album Breakin’ Point.”
Breakin’ Point is another step in this trio’s search for a way to the top. The previous album Gimme Some was power pop, their guitar standing point. But this time they wanted to do the very opposite. Breakin’ Point is done with many guests who helped to create a perfect dance indie-pop having a deeper impact on the listeners. The album is about life’s troubles and the uneasy moments of maturing.
Peter Bjorn and John after twenty years are a mix of three different and unique ingredients and together they make a very tasty classic. Last year they came to the Czech Republic after long eight years playing the Rock For Churchill festival. This October they will play in Lucerna Music Bar, their first ever gig in Prague.
Tickets available from 4th July 10am.
